qtPhDs Newsletter: Jan 2022

January 7, 2022

Hello all and Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a restful holiday break and that you are staying warm, dry, and safe in the new year.

Coffee and After-work Meetups

qtPhDs hosts coffee hours on the 1st Monday of each month and after-work meetups on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Given the unprecedented number of COVID-19 cases, these events are cancelled for the month of January, but stay tuned for their return once it is safe to do so.

Slack channel: qtPhDs’ Slack channel is graciously hosted by the QStaff Slack group-- if you would like to join, please email us at qtphds-admin@mit.edu and we will add you!

Questions? Comments? Thoughts? We’re always happy to hear from you at qtphds-admin@mit.edu (or at our personal emails!).

Cheers,

Senén and Rachel

*Each month we will be featuring a different pride flag in our logo! Our flag of the month is the Agender Pride Flag, which was created by Salem X in 2014. The flag’s black and white stripes represent genderlessness, the gray stripe represents semi-genderlessness, and the green stripe is an inversion of purple, which is used in the bisexual and nonbinary flags to represent both male and female. In this sense, the green stripe represents nonbinary genders that are not a combination of male and female genders.
