April 2023 Newsletter

April 1, 2023

Hi qtPhDs,

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! Today is a day to celebrate trans joy and commit to protecting trans lives, especially in the current political climate where anti-trans legislation is on a record rise.  Here’s a comic from Sophie Labelle, who recently visited MIT, about today– check out the hashtag #TDOV to see more posts!

After work and coffee events

It was great to see folks last night at the Muddy! We will postpone our coffee hour to Monday, April 10th at 2pm at the Rainbow Lounge in MIT, or outside weather permitting. We will host this event at the Rainbow Lounge (50-250)– if you’ve never been, here is an explanation of how to get there. Or, if it’s a warm spring day we will sit outside! Come join for a nice afternoon break!

Please sign up here by Monday April 10th, at 10am so we have an estimate for coffee and treats: RSVP.

Save the date for our April after-work event on Thursday, April 20th. Keep an eye out for an RSVP form and location later this month!

Additional events:

Check out events at the Rainbow Lounge here!

*Each month we will be featuring a different pride flag in our logo! Our flag of the month is the Asexual Pride Flag, which was created by AVEN user standup in 2010. The topmost black stripe represents asexuality, the gray stripe represents demi- and gray-sexuality, the white stripe represents allosexual partners and allies, and the purple stripe represents community.
